Welcome to the glamorous and luxurious world of Taylor Swift, where chart-topping hits and sold-out stadiums are just the beginning. Swift is not just a global megastar, the singer-songwriter is a real estate powerhouse with an extensive property portfolio.
From New York penthouses to a spectacular beachfront Rhode Island mansion, Swift really has it all. Prepare to be swept off your feet by this real estate ‘Love Story’ as you join us on a grand tour of Swift’s $150 million USD ($231 million AUD) property portfolio.
Our journey begins in Nashville, Tennessee, the launching pad for many country singers, including a then 20-year-old Taylor. After the success of her second album “Fearless”, Swift made her real estate debut with a $2 million USD penthouse nestled near the famed Music Row in Nashville. Not bad for a first home buyer.
It's also speculated that she acquired another apartment in the same building, The Adelicia, through a discreet, off-market purchase.
Three years later, in 2011, Swift bought her second property. This Greek revival style house, better known as The Northumberland Estate, was bought by Swift for $2.5 million USD. Known for its orchards, formal gardens, beautiful marble finishes and generous room sizes, we are sure that Swift created many memories here in her early 20’s.
It is estimated to be worth $3.75 million USD and rumoured that Swift’s mum now resides here.
Better known by her fans as Swift’s party house, this colonial style beachfront manor was Swift’s next property purchase in 2013. Bought for a mere $17.75 million USD, she purchased this house on sale around $6 million below the original asking price. She processed this payment off-market and paid in cash.
This is where Swift throws her famous 4th of July parties attended by a constellation of celebrity friends including the likes of Gigi Hadid and Selena Gomez.
This property is now worth an estimated $36.5 million USD.
Next in Swift’s property journey is this stunning Georgian Revival mansion in Beverly Hills. Known as The Goldwyn Estate after famous Hollywood producer Samuel Goldwyn, Swift purchased this property for an estimated $25 million USD in 2015.
She restored it and successfully applied for landmark status, and now it's valued at a whopping $70 million USD.
Swift welcomed herself to New York by purchasing two adjacent TriBeCa penthouses from Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson for $19.95 million USD. She immediately started renovations to join the penthouses and created a large duplex with 10 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms.
Swift didn't stop there in New York. In 2017 she purchased a townhouse right next to her penthouse duplex. The townhouse, purchased for an estimated $18 million USD in 2011, is a 100-year-old building renovated by famed architect and designer Leopoldo Rosati.
In 2018, Swift further expanded her New York property empire with the acquisition of a $9.75 million USD second floor apartment in the same building as her duplex. According to The Wall Street Journal, real estate agent Andrew Azoulay advised Swift to buy the previous townhouse to serve as a private garage and the second-floor apartment to connect the garage to her duplex. Swift heeded this advice, securing her status as a significant property owner in the Big Apple.
